Mid-Way House Tour: Kitchen

Welcome to the fourth room in our house tour: our kitchen!  Simple with lots of storage, that's what I wanted when we went to design our kitchen.  I love white kitchens but I wanted something a little softer so we went with off white for the cabinets on the back wall.  Another design element that I love is when the island is a different color, as well as the counter tops.

It was a bit nerve recking to pick everything out without an overall picture of what it was going to look like in the end but I love how it all turned out!

Like all the other rooms in our home there are a lot of finishing touches that still need to be done.  In fact, our back counter tops are not actually installed yet, they are just sitting on the cabinets and I hardly notice, like many other things, that they're not finished.  They still work perfect. 

Eventually we'll put tile for the back splash and get some hardware for the cabinets but for now its functioning perfectly!

I love our kitchen faucet!  When you need to turn it or off and your hands are wet you don't get water all over the counter, it stays in the sink.

I really like our sink but it scratches really easily, we have a stash of magic erasers nearby

The bar stools work perfect for our kids, wide and sturdy.

our best mistake!  This was going to be for a microwave but then we realized the space was perfect for all our larger kitchen appliances like our bread machine, juicer and blender.  Now we just need to install the doors that we purchased recently. 

the one cabinet that had a nick in it had to be the one on the end, of course!  Just need a little touch up paint.
