From Muddy Puddles to Streams of Living Water: A Visit From My Parents: Part 2 (Birthday Edition)

Like I had mentioned in my earlier post here about my parents visit, we were so excited to have them here to celebrate McKenzie's birthday with us this year! And at 3 they know what's going on as far as birthdays go! They're excited about them and look forward to all the celebrations and cake!

We celebrated her birthday on Saturday and had a fun filled day that started out with our birthday tradition of waking up to a house filled with balloons! We all headed into town for some fun play time in the water at our indoor water park, enjoyed lunch out, cupcakes and a nap because we wore them out playing in the water. Then we continued the celebration that evening with a special dinner and gifts.

My sweet McKenzie girl had such a special day and the best part about it was that Grandma and Papa were there with her to celebrate turning 3!

Birthday tradition...

McKenzie's birthday party started the night before for all of us (adults) by blowing up balloons.

And yes there was a competition for who could make the biggest balloon without popping it!

Even Grandma got in on it...

Where was I you ask? In the kitchen making dessert, I was the smart one, and of course taking pictures of everyone else!

And then there was water park fun!!

Even Janessa got in on it...

She got her toes wet but that was about it, she was done after that!

When you block one hole it makes the water shoot out farther from the others...

Grandma got in on the action too, playing with the kids in the water and taking photos.

Then the big slides. McKenzie was the one to come to us and tell us she wanted to go down them!

This was a first, all four of us got to go on the slides together! It was fun and special. Prior, I was either pregnant or one of the kids didn't want to go.

She was loving it, and kept asking to go again and again!

In the meantime this is what happened on the homefront...

She got so cozy she just passed out. I love it, soooo sweet!

And we finished up with some hot tub time to warm up! Always a fun time at the water park!

Then we went out to lunch for the birthday happy birthday girl!

They were loving their Papa and Grandma time!

And home for cupcakes!

This girl loves bags, bottles, baggies anything that you can put something into. She'll sit for hours and fill up a bag with toys, take them out and put them back in again, over and over.
