Mid-Way House Tour: Living Room

Welcome to our mid-way house tour!  There have been lots of little changes that have been taking place around our house lately and they've begun to add up to where the house is transforming and looking more homey everyday.  Piece by piece we've brought up furniture from the basement and put them in our home and I realized our house looks pretty differrent from the last time you've seen it.  So I'll take you room by room and show you where we're at these days.  There is still a lot to be done, no real decorating has happened but the bigger pieces are being put in their places.  It's the begining and in hopes, the mid-way point in our house building process.
Welcome to our living room!

Our living room!

The entry and dining room are to the right.

Coming from the stairs.

I wanted a couple low key chairs, we found these at Menards.

The outdoor furniture worked perfect for our living room.

And the pillows matched my colors perfectly, score!

The view from the side chairs.  no matter where you are in our house the view is beautiful!

Oh, and I spotted a sweet little girl, who has leaned to sit up all on her own, watching me!

what a cutie!

happy girl!

who's there?!

Right, back to the living room.  All our furniture has to have pads on the bottom.  Laminate scratched very easily, we've found out the hard way.

Our new area rug from Target.

And our ottoman was brought up as well from the basement.

I love our ottoman, totally kid friendly being soft and round.  Perfect for our kiddos as they learn to stand up and walk and lots of fun to play on and I know they're safe... for the most part... well at least I know they won't fall and hit a corner.

Just add a serving tray for drinks and wa-la!  Perfect!

and our new couch... you can read about our couch adventures here

If you checked out the post on our new couch you'll notice there is something different about it in these pictures.  I took away the bronze colored pillows.  What a world of difference it made.  I liked my couch before but I love it now, now it's perfect!

Our couch is micro fiber and I have a lot of friends who don't like micro fiber.  I found a tutorial here from Pinterest on how to clean micro fiber.  I haven't tried it yet but I figured I share it in case you ever wanted or needed to try it out: let me know if it works!

A piece of furniture that my parents brought when they drove up this past summer with a trailer full of stuff for us!  You can check out the packed to the brim tailer here.

I absolutely love this littly beauty, its from my Grammy, my mom had it for many years and now its in our new home!

Beautiful details!

I love this spot on our couch, you can find me curled up in the corner with a blanket and a cup of coffee blogging..

Or enjoying our beautiful view!

And there is always a basket of blankets around here!

Our curtains.  That is another thing we have been up to, eliminating the fish bowl effect.  Yes, we have been living in a fish bowl since we moved in but thankfully there are nott a lot of people close by and the only window that really let the world neighbors see in was our dining room window.  Thankfully we have finally taken care of that!

My curtians are wite: very white!  I was so nervouse about putting them up in our living room where I already had off-white kitchen cabinets, tan walls, a tan couch, and an off white area rug; not quite knowing how the white would fit in. But I really like the look!  I love the layers of white, and over time, when I get around to decorating, hopefully I can manage to tie everything together with decor.

Another item we brought up from the basement where our two overstuffed chairs.  One made it in the living room the other is in our Mater Bedroom.

And of course, like most of our other furniture it took a bit of a beating in all the moving, but it just adds character.

It's another great stop to snuggle up with a pillow and a warm cup of coffee and enjoy the view...

Like I said, no matter where you are the view is different and beautiful!

So there you have it...

our living room!

I hope you enjoyed your tour, stay tuned for the next room in our house tour!

And now off to fold some laundry...
