I am hoping to have a few of these posts by the end of summer, that is one of my goals, which I suppose ends up being multiple goals since there are multiple projects that I hope to complete!
These are projects that I originally found from Pinterest. My list of crafts that I want to do from Pinterest is crazy long so I'm trying to do something about that. Like, actually do some of them!
The first is "Baby Food Jars with Chalk Board Lids" which you can check out here.
With our new kitchen I got a spice rack drawer right next to our oven which I really like. But what I didn't like is the time it took me to search through my spice containers to find the one I was looking for. It was messy and unorganized and crazy. And it made me crazy!
When I ran across this picture on Pinterest I was so excited because Janessa was eating baby food. It seemed like the perfect project, free jars, in the since that we were already purchasing the baby food for Janessa and all I had to do was wash and save the jars. So that's what we did. And I finally got enough to start the project.
I absolutely love the end result! It is perfect and beautiful and so much more pleasant to use and find the spices that I'm looking for.
Here's what I did:
First I saved and washed all the baby food jars we used for Janessa.
I still need to work at getting some of the glue off from the jars where the labels were attached.
I took all the lids off,
And layed them out to spray paint them.
I primed the lids,
and then spray painted them black.
Once they were dry I brought them inside,
And got out my paint pen.
Then I labeled each lid with a specific spice and poured the spice into the jar and put the lid on.
Here's what it looked like before... eek!
And here's my new labeled jars
They look so pretty!
I was surprised at how many spices I had!
Then I alphabetized them and put them in my spice drawer.
And the second row of spices. Just the perfect amount of space!
On the bottom shelf I have my broths,
and extra spices. (If I had more than would fit into the jars.)
SO much better!
And the before and after look!!

Wow that was creative! How many jars did you use?
