Glasses

Our sweet McKenzie girl needs glasses.

From the beginning we've worried about whether or not our kids would need glasses since Nathan has such bad eyesight and so do many of his family members.

When McKenzie was born we noticed she had a bit of a droopy eye and then at the age of one she needed tear duct surgery (not that that aided in her poor eyesight) but we did see the optometrist back then and realized she had astigmatism.  And as she's grown older we've wondered whether she was just a klutzy girl or if her eye sight was getting worse.  So we finally decided that we needed to make an eye appointment again and get her eyes checked since it had been over a year.  And they confirmed our suspicions.  She was in need of glasses due to her astigmatism (the shape of her eye is more like a football than round causing her vision to be blurry).  So we went Saturday to pick out frames and by the end of the week we'll have glasses for her to wear.

It makes me sad that she needs them at such a young age but I know they will help her see better and that is the most important thing.

Here are a few pictures of her sporting the frames that we picked out.

checking out her new glasses!
