Camping Out

"CARPET is coming tomorrow!"

That was one of the best things I could have heard!  I was honestly hoping that we would have carpet by Christmas, but to have it in before December was too good to be true...

NO carpet...

The carpet installers did come when they said they would.  They came Wednesday morning and got right to work installing the tack strip and bringing in the carpet pad, only come to find out there was some sort of mess-up and miscommunication (my personal opinion is that Carpet Garage sold our carpet and re-ordered it without telling us because we had been informed that it was in and waiting for an installer to come pick it up weeks ago) and they informed our installer that our carpet was not available.  WHAT?!!?!

Apparently it is going to be in by Thursday but has to sit for 24 hours in a controlled environment to be ready for installation.

I don't know when the carpet installer will be available to put it in.  Bummer.  (hopefully sooner than later)

The real BUMMER...  Nate had worked through the night, never going to bed that night getting the 3 rooms and walk in closet ready for carpet.  We had to clear them out of all our stuff and bedding, then sweep it up and find any squeaky spots or large bumps and fix them.  I will spare you the details of how that is done but it's a very time consuming process.

It gets worse!  Not only had Nathan not slept at all Tuesday night/ Wednesday morning, he had only slept 2 1/2 hours the night before after cleaning up all the tools and wires and stuff from working on the house that had accumulated in the basement.  So within a 60 hour period, Nate only slept 2 1/2 hours.  For those 57 1/2 hours he was awake he was working doing physical labor!!!

I am thankful to be able to inform you that he came home last night and didn't work on the house and we all went to bed early!

So we're all 'camping out' in our living room.  The kids are beyond excited and they even got to watch a movie in bed the night Nate and I were trying to get the rooms ready for carpet.  And apparently our little camp out will continue for who knows how long.

Always an adventure here at the Mudd household!

all our beds and clothes moved into the living room

watching a movie in bed (what a treat!)

so cute and cozy!
