I had this great idea for a 'before and after' post for a swingset that we recently received from our friends who are moving. I should have known better. Repainting a swingset is a little low on our priority list right now. The funny thing is, the swingset looks great, it really doesn't need much tlc, it has a little rust on it and we, or should I say I, thought it would be fun to paint it red. Okay, I guess I should clarify, I had the idea to paint it, Nathan had the great idea to paint it red. A red swingset with our cream colored house, how pretty! Well that just might not happen this year, we'll see if that 'before and after post' ever gets written but for now here's a picture of our new swing set! I love it! And the kids do too ; )
This past weekend we did not finish the electrical and plumbing like I had hoped, but that's okay. Nathan was able to finally complete the bricks around all our basement windows. Those took hours each to do and I know Nathan is so glad that they are finished. I should wisely not ask for any more retaining walls to be built, at least for this year!
On Saturday we decided to head down for the day to a Family Camp that we love to go to each year. It's such a blessing for us to gather with other families and friends and have a fun weekend of fellowship, fun and worship and teachings. We would have loved to go for the whole weekend but knew it was wise to continue work on the house so we spent a long day on Saturday down there. I only took a couple pictures during our busy day of Nathan playing play-do with the kids. It was such a wonderful time for all of us to be together, having fun!
Also, the theme was perseverance, what a great topic and reminder for us during this season. I wrote a little bit about how we're feeling right now with the building process and the need to be reminded to persevere, over at my new blog: worshipfulwomanhood.blogspot.com. I'd love for you to take a moment to read what I wrote if you get the chance. You can click here for that post. I hope enjoy the couple pictures that were taken from the weekend.
Oh, and I should mention that I recently made homemade soap!! I had been wanting to try to make some for a while now and finally found a friend who makes homemade soap. So we spent a day together last week and made a couple batches. If you want to see our project or learn how to make it yourself check out my homemade soap tutorial over at my other blog. Here's a picture of how it turned out!
