Home Together

We're about halfway through our summer, which means we're on countdown to being in our new home together as a family of five!  And we are all looking forward to when that day comes.  God had a perfect timing for Janessa to arrive, even though there have been times I wondered why now and not then, but I realized today that we had a wonderful full week of Daddy being home right in the middle of our time working on the house.  What a perfect, wonderful blessing from the Lord.
We had such a fun week home, enjoying our new sweet little blessing, Janessa!  Everyone has done so well with the transition.  The kids love her and want to hold her and give her kisses and love on her!  McKenzie is our nurturer, she would hold Janessa for hours if she was old enough, she loves to hold her and talk to her, give her kisses and help mommy.  Zeke and Kenzie loved having Daddy home and enjoyed lots of play time with him.  Our weather has been hot and humid so we spent time inside as much a possible.  We also spent a few full days in town picking out things for our house, like siding, doors, bathtubs and getting stuff for the electrical and finding someone to do our duct work.  I suppose we couldn't completely put off the house, even though Nathan took a break from working on it.
Janessa has been such a joy.  She is a great little baby who so far has spoiled us by being a great sleeper already, we'll see if that continues.
Today Nathan went back to work, I was worried and in tears yesterday wondering how I was possibly going to manage, knowing this time it's different.  He won't be coming home in the evenings after work but instead heading to the property to work until sundown or later, coming home at nearly midnight most nights I'm sure.  And again I fought back tears as I watched Ezekiel begin to cry at Bible time tonight and when I asked him what was wrong he simply said, "I want Daddy home."  Oh, how I wanted to break down and cry with him and say those same words.  But God is faithful, and His strength is made perfect in our weakness.  No, I cannot do this on my own, but I can do it through Christ who gives me strength.  We had a good first day home, I even got a nap in while all three kids were napping!!  So, we'll see how things go.  But my trust is in the Lord!

  1. Nate & Jean, You are amazing.
Three children, loving parents, a house being built, and you still manage to keep family up to date with words and pictures
