Less Than a Week

We had another absolutely wonderful and blessed weekend!

I feel like we are on a roller coaster ride and we have been on the initial ascent; excited, nervous and trying to prepare for the unknown that lie ahead and we have just crested the top of the first big drop that will shoot us into the adventure of this crazy roller coaster ride.  I think we're just about ready to take that first drop!!

Our weekend started on Friday.  We woke up to rain which meant Nathan was staying home from work, but shortly after getting ready for breakfast Nathan got a call that a friends barn and yard were being flooded and they needed help sandbagging.  Now, I am really excited because Spring has finally arrived here in North Dakota, it is a terrible muddy mess here and our snow is finally melting away but that means flooding.  And we have a few friends who live near the river and have had to deal with the flooding of their yards and homes, and my heart goes out to them as they battle the elements of this season.  Here is a picture of the family's yard where Nathan was helping.  This picture was taken today (Sunday), when Nathan helped lay the sandbags on Friday the river was still a couple yards away from where the sandbags are.  Crazy!  Thankfully the river has crested, just yesterday or today, and will be receding!!

We spent Friday night and Saturday at the Maxwell's Conference here in town, being encouraged and enjoyed wonderful fellowship with friends, some who came from far away who we have not seen for many months!  The Lord is good and He is faithful! Check out Titus2.com

Friday afternoon we decided to get our change of address and forwarding of our mail set up with USPS through their web site.  As I sat down to fill out the form Nathan left the room to get something from the kitchen.  When a walked back into the room a couple moments later, there I was sitting on the couch with the computer on my lap and tears streaming down my face!  Poor Nathan didn't know what in the world was wrong!  But as I began filling out the form one of the first questions was "is this move temporary or permanent?"  It's permanent!!  It's beginning to hit home, while I am so glad to be moving and building a new home and for whatever new things the Lord has in store for us, it is still bittersweet.  This was our first home as a family.  We had made memories here with our children and I realized I will no longer watch them run around this house or play out in the back yard in the sandbox Nathan built for them.  We will be saying goodbye and only have pictures to remind us of these days gone by.  We are so grateful for our time in this house that we made our home, and yes, it is bittersweet, but we look forward to all the Lord has in store for us too!
We are down to less than 1 week.  Tonight we are doing some touch up painting around the outside of the house that was required from our appraisal and then we will finish packing up our house over the next 3 days.  Thursday we will move the majority of our large furniture items into storage and Friday and Saturday we will officially move into the camper!  Hopefully by Sunday evening we will have moved any extra boxes and the last of the items around the house into storage and I’ll have a few days to clean before we close on the 22nd.  So it’ll be a very busy week around here but I am SO glad our weather is nice and the kids can enjoy playing outside for hours now, which is a huge blessing!

Know that we are praying for you as a family.  The Lord is working in all our lives, doing many great things!
